Obiano’s Wife Trains Additional 160 Women in Various Skills

Wife of the governor of Anambra State, Chief (Mrs.) Ebelechukwu Obiano has trained an additional 160 indigent widows and women in various skills acquisition programmes initiated by her pet project, Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFÉ).
The latest development is In furtherance of her avowed commitment to empowerment of the indigent and less privileged members of the society,
Already, a total of 160 beneficiaries selected for the Second Batch Skills Acquisition programme across the 21 Local Government Areas of the State are currently undergoing training in four areas across different centres in the state.
40 persons were selected in each of the training areas, namely Tailoring, Hair dressing and Beauty Therapy, Confectionaries and Bakery as well as Soap Making.
The venues of the Second Batch training programme which started on August 17 this
year are as follows: Tailoring, is being conducted at St Gabriel Catholic Church Umunnachi, while Hair Dressing & Beauty Therapy as well as Confectionaries & Bakery are being held at Mary Sumner Institute, St Paul University Awka.
The one-week training for beneficiaries in Soap Making was concluded at St John Vocational & Technical Institute, Neni while the ongoing one-month training in Tailoring, Hair Dressing & Beauty Therapy, as well as Confectionaries & Bakery would end second week of September this year.
In the first Batch, a total of 284 persons were trained in various fields including Community Health Services and were provided with cash and working tools as part of empowerment programme embarked on by the Office of the Wife of the Governor of the State.
